Society pest or pure envy?

We are all working to make a living. You give 8 to 10 hours a day to make sure that income is able to give you a roof and food. That income needs to be bigger if you have a family to feed with your parents. Are we really working to contribute to better society? In many stages, we still need money.  I was watching a CNA undercover series on Online Scam, mainly from India. It is a flourishing industry and many Indians know that it is wrong to scam but they did it to survive. It is morally wrong but they need to survive.  Survival will lead to unscrupulous means. Are they wrong? Who will help them if they die of hunger? No one in actual terms.  If we have that income to survive hunger and having a roof over our head, then we can talk about being noble or contributing to our society.   However, if I have that passive income, do I really want to CONTRIBUTE? Shouldn't we start enjoying our life after that many years of slogging?  Many will label us as society pest or freeloader but who a

Owning or subscribing to anything...

I have been owning almost everything in this life. We are taught since young that owning the assets is the key to assurance in life. You pay the full ticket price of items that you think you need: your house, your car, that washing machine, the TV, that sofa, my watch, my smartphone, that shoe, that piece of clothing that you put on, etc. How do we service these payments? Probably through mortgage loans, car loans for big ticket items. Smaller or cheaper stuff maybe we pay in full or instalments.  Do we really need these material possessions? What if we are able to rent or lease these items?  If we subscribe, we might not need to create as much waste. We can easily travel to places, use the Washing Machine as a Service (laundromat), rent that phone with SIM for connectivity within that city, rent a bike or car to travel around, stay in that apartment accordingly to how long your job or you required, we share the 'resources' (TV, Washing Machine, Books, Transport, Clothes, etc.

True leaders are born, not made.

I used to argue that leaders are made not born. I believe with the right learning paths, right mentor, a leader can be made. There is probably some truth on training a person to become a manager and they can be CEO of a company.  But true leadership has nothing to do with the title of your job. True leaders know how to steer the team when crisis arises. He/she will think 2 or more steps of a situation. Prioritizing the safety of everyone, boosting the morale of employees, motivating to increase productivity, being in their shoes every single time, being flexible even when rules need to be broken, etc.  True leader is not necessarily the CEO of big companies (some CEO still CMI). True leader does not need to be highly educated. True leadership requires one to make hard but humane decisions at times. The late Mr LKY is a true leader, he might not be a visionary but he needs to have the team that shares his vision.  The late Mr Deng, though small in build, is nothing short of great respec

Procrastination is everyone's strength.

Procrastinate is easy. I will do it later, tomorrow, maybe next week, maybe when I am 50. There is one thousand and one wayss to do it but we choose to procrastinate. Is it really wrong? or is there even a wrong or right?  Sometimes, we delay to wait for results. Sometimes, things will clear a path for us when we delay. Sometimes, slower is better, we do not jump to conclusion.  Do it with exertion, with the goal in mind. You can wait for all you needed but set the goal (not a running target).  I hate to admit that I am also procrastinating now. I am 'dragging' myself to work where I should have quit, putting away my RTI cycling plan when I can do it anytime, leaving my backpacking travel on hold when I know I cannot walk as much as I hit 50 or 60.  But all in all, these plans will need to be on hold until I created enough passive income.  Do I need to be a millionaire?  Procrastinate with that plan in mind. It is all leading to it.
