i had been hit by spammers!

great... :( i thot this thing will never happen to me. this spammer has been giving me 74 or more comments within one minute for all my blog articles on 22 jul. as i was retrieving my email, i was so delighted at first to see so many comments..... only to be stupid enuff to think that my site is so "POPULAR"! hahaha. crazy man. luckily with some help, see here . i hope security is enhanced...sigh... another episode of American Dad was shown... this time round on family role reversal. the alien in the house swapped his role with the dad. boy.....what will happen if i swap role with my dad? can i play a better role? i doubt so... my dad is still the best... though he is strict most times.

Steamboy - not something dirty...

Image
i have always been a great fan of japanese anime or comics. Steamboy is the latest to my collection. japanese are really creative in their story plot. the storyline or their imagination was almost realistic (and it's as if it had happened). read more information from the title link and watch this. several good anime titles to consider over these weekend: Final Fantasy VII, Spirited Away, Akira, Ghost in the Shell, Dragonball series and the movie. Still finding cheap DVD for Howling Castle. any recommendation? for a start, as long as the jap anime DVD is cheap, just buy. you can hardly go wrong. :P

What's wrong with STOMP's talkback?

this is really getting on my nerve. STOMP 's talkback session where you are supposed to post and 'talk' in forum. I registered as an user 2 days ago. yesterday, i tried to login and without even trying the key in the password or id, i was told that "my id or password is wrong and xxx". crazy. then i tried to reset and still the same problem. what is this?! tried "contact us" and the function is disabled. how the heck can we feedback? i can't post, i can't feedback. do i really have to use ST forum?.....sigh psst....i posted a thread on foodie (now i can't reply)....

what's life after death?

what's the first thing that come into your mind if you die suddenly and did not leave any instructions/will behind? ...... a trail of loans for my wife, my regrets for not playing enough with my cute and adorable girl. while driving along a bus lane this evening (Bugis), this Comfort cab suddenly swerved out of nowhere and 'cut' into my lane. ............. i stepped on my car brakes with all my might. what an assh**e! plate number SHB1230, forgot last letter. watch out for this driver...my colleague was with me and she was too shocked to react. luckily i have just sent my car for servicing last week.... i can't think of the consequences if the accident really happens as i was travelling around 60 to 70kmh (yesterday's blog could be my last :() . ......death suddenly flashed upon me at that moment...probably in a millisecond but that was enuff for me to sit down and plan seriously for my family. do it if you have not. tomorrow is always 24hr away...as the saying goe

It's Showtime after the World Cup...

what's next after the month-long World Cup 2006, check this out: Fox Broadcasting Company: American Dad . i was channel surfing last Saturday night and happened to see this animation at Channel 5 (MediaCorp) at 12am. . a funny and adult-themed animation, short but entertaining. better than The Simpsons, more no-holds-barred than South Park. Fox is really good in entertaining us and kudos to MediaCorp for the liberation in media. psst...still a no no for kids.

Amazing Race ... my edition

this is definitely one of those days that i have driven the longest mile during my work. going from office to Sentosa, to SiS, to Ubi, to Clarke Quay, backto Ubi and to Bugis. amazingly i think i clocked 150km, equivalent to driving from Tuas to Changi and back. and, boy, my brain's dead... last Friday, i attended an IBM event held at Mandai Zoo, it is Amazing Race in the Zoo. that event is mentally and physically exhausting but fun. intelligent and challenging questions are asked at each 'pit stop'. physical activities need to be performed and solved in the shortest time. teamwork plays a part in your total score. you earned points for every tasks completed at each station and gets to answer bonus questions. we came in second (with all tasks performed and almost all bonus questions answered)......but we are not one of the top three winners. i wonder what is the scoring system like? 'teamwork' having points...hmmm, subjective i would say... there goes our team's

Best Defense...

I was talking to my bro-in-law regarding his work. it seems like there is a misunderstanding or miscommunication between his 'higher authority" and him, and i happen to quote this phrase, "The Best Defense is not to defend". .. whoa, profound huh? The Best Defense is Not To Defend: - applies to soccer: means to attack and goal first! - applies to quarrel with partner: means silence and you will be the winner. :) - applies to office politics/work: means keeping mouth shut and working harder, inviting lesser gossip and boss-subordinate misunderstanding. - applies to driving: means overtaking that bast**d on the road when you give way to him and he shows you the middle finger. - applies to sales: means quoting at cost or below cost to 'kill' any competition. all in all, Not to Defend does not necessarily mean weak or retreat, but rather becoming aggressive in a subtle way. look at Gandhi. Probably i learn this phrase from some place....hmmmm.

Creative Zen Nano Plus 1GB MP3 player - lucky me

Image
i attended HP Procurve event today. their range of network switches are extensive and good, giving customers lifetime warranty even when the product is discontinued, covering not just fans and power supplies but everything. so when you buy a procurve switch, you know that this is going to stay with you for life. of course, technology change will make you change / upgrade the switch but your investment is REALLY protected. <--- sales pitch...hahahha. the real catch here: i won it again! the last training session with procurve, it got me a HP 4MP digital camera, not really a good camera, slow shutter speed and LCD issue - SOLD. this time round, i am really lucky - the lucky draw prize was a Creative Zen Nano Plus 1GB MP3 player. see below, unopened (brand new)... see the specs here > retailing at SGD179.00. mine is unopened (brand new) as well, going at SGD150 only. of course, let me know if you are really really interested. BTW, lemme know if you are interested in HP Procurve swit

Search Engine Optimization, Rank Top at Search Engines, Top Rank Keywords

if you are reading this article, probably you are like me... wanting and trying to get your blog or site into the top 3 pages of popular search engines like Yahoo, Google, MSN, etc. it is really incredible to see the evolvement of internet and search engines since i started web surfing 10 years ago, they used to be informational sites but are now becoming multi-millions businesses. creating hundreds and thousands of jobs and revenue opportunities for virtually everyone and anyone who dare to invest their time and money in this 'virtual' marketplace. sell to North Pole, buy things during flight. sell an idea, buy a 'moon' rock. the keyword "how to optimize my website to get into the top ranks of search engines?" the keyword "how to direct right traffic to my website?" the keyword "how to generate revenue using the least resources?" there are thousands of websites and blogs giving advice on search engine optimization and creating unique visit

2006 World Cup trophy belongs to Italy

Image
what a match between Italy and France this morning (according to Singapore Time) but a bit disappointed that the final goes into penalty to decide the winner. Both goalkeepers were not able to stop any goal. if Ricardo (Portugal Goalkeeper) was there yesterday, will he be able to help France? Italy all the way! picture from www.fifaworldcup.com . ITA : FRA, 9 July 2006, Berlin, Germany Copyright: AFP / afp.com let's see more matches coming up this European Cup (2 years' time). heard from commentator yesterday that the heats for European Cup will be starting 6 weeks' time and Italy will meet France again?! Ironic.

2006 FIFA World Cup Match Detail (Final: Italy vs France)

as i was writing this blog, i am 3 hours away from the last match of FIFA World Cup 2006 (Italy - France). tension really 'cooked' up between my family members, we are on equal stance. some support France, some Italy. I am fan of Italy after their fantastic defense against Germany. never really like Germany since their play is pretty boring. *crossed fingers* Italy all the way, take the cup once again like 24 years ago! go go Azzurri!

I am Singaporean

just to give a tinker... i am Singaporean, but i need to be careful of what i do and be careful of what i say in public media. don't talk anything directly about the higher authority or "in front of them". for mrbrown's "iamsingaporean". ------------brain dead-------------

Beware of what you write or speak in Singapore media...

i was flipping through The Straits Times (our local newspapers) today. News! Singapore famous blogger, mrbrown 's article column was removed from TODAY (another local newspapers). the local publisher, probably was under the pressure from our Government... mrbrown was writing on high cost of living in Singapore, etc... Sorry, I don't have a copy of TODAY.... lemme check... Found it from TODAY, 30 June 2006, here's the full version, in case they took it off: S'poreans are fed, up with progress! Moving ahead is great but it would be even greater to be able to make ends meet THINGS are certainly looking up for Singapore again. Up, up, and away. .Household incomes are up, I read. Sure, the bottom third of our country is actually seeing their incomes (or as one newspaper called it, "wages") shrink, but the rest of us purportedly are making more money. .Okay, if you say so. .As sure as Superman Returns, our cost of living is also on the up. Except we are not able to

World Cup 2006 odds from Singapore Pools

i am still feeling blues over the defeat of Brazil in World Cup. but they sucks in the match with France. life still goes on... here are the odds for World Cup semi-finals. not really attractive but this is our only avenue for legal bets. (see the link) i think i will try my luck with Portugal... maybe as championship winner... seven times payout, not bad. it seems like a trend since 1962 onwards, an European country will win one World Cup and the next one to be a South American team. Conspiracy? Pre-fixed? External reasons? or Pure Coincidence? Look at this, think over it.
