Slower is faster, less is more....

Are we driving slower but it is actually faster?  Are we earning less but in fact, I am earning more?  NO, that's not what I meant.  My bros were talking about swimming strokes...  My eldest bro mentioned that slower strokes actually make you swim faster. I couldn't agree more. My younger bro was having problem with freestyle and struggling in breathing. We mentioned the slower and more complete in your strokes, you actually swim faster. With lesser big strokes, you have more time for breathe and the distance covered is further per stroke. Don't believe us, try it! search for Total Immersion, highly recommended for any form of swimmers.  Slower is faster, less is more applies to a lot more cases in our daily lives.  Food!!! Taking your time to chew your food slowly actually make digestion better and actually consume less food and you can be full.  Actions! More observations will make decisions better and lesser actions. Sports is a classic case... give some time to think ov

There is no FUTURE II

If you have not see the first section of "There is no FUTURE",  click here .  There are many movies or series or books out there that discuss on FUTURE.  My fav movie trilogy: Michael J Fox "Back to the Future" trilogy some profound series: "12 Monkeys"  another few movie to ponder: "Matrix" trilogy, "TENET", "Inception". even Marvel Avengers End Game.  Some tried to go back in time to alter their future, some realised that altering the past actually result in their current future, some thought that they are living in the present but actually there is no FUTURE, Some realised that their FUTURE is NOW and nothing can change it. So if there is no FUTURE, you may be wondering: why do I need to work so hard? why do I need to study so hard? why do I need to train like mad?  why do I need to earn so much?  Minus FUTURE from your equation, live in the present. Your thoughts, actions, care, love, feelings affect not just yourself at p

There is no FUTURE

What is Future?  Future is an imaginary word or rather imaginary life. It is a concept that keeps us alive.  We work hard hoping for earlier and better retirement life (that is future).  We eat better hoping to live a longer and healthier life (that is future).  We exercise and train hoping that we will not get sick (that is future). We study hard and learn a lot of things hoping that we can get better job, eat better and train more intelligently. (Isn't that the future too?) Religion, politics and capitalism are promoting the future too.  Different religions 'promote' the different way of life and also death. Build good deeds to have good karma. Do evil and go to hell. Believing in God to have a place in 'heaven'. Reincarnation after death. What makes us think that there is a place after death or a destination after death?  Politicians are 'busying' encouraging citizens to work for a better nation. That's for the nation, that's not for you.  Capital

Simple life is not Minimalism

Extracted from https://www.theminimalists.com/minimalism/ " Minimalism is a tool that can assist you in finding freedom. Freedom from fear. Freedom from worry. Freedom from overwhelm. Freedom from guilt. Freedom from depression. Freedom from the trappings of the consumer culture we’ve built our lives around. Real freedom. That doesn’t mean there’s anything inherently wrong with owning material possessions. Today’s problem seems to be the meaning we assign to our stuff: we tend to give too much meaning to our things, often forsaking our health, our relationships, our passions, our personal growth, and our desire to contribute beyond ourselves. Want to own a car or a house? Great, have at it! Want to raise a family and have a career? If these things are important to you, then that’s wonderful. Minimalism simply allows you to make these decisions more consciously, more deliberately." At first, I thought minimalism is for me. To certain extent, I think I can be a minimalist. I do

What is life / purpose of life?

Little did I realised that my first blog post was on 9 Sep 2005. When I first decided on this blog is to explore the meaning of soul, mind & life, anything other than work, but I got so distracted and tied up for the past 10 years in work that got me nowhere.  Covid-19 really sets me thinking and recollect my initial intention of exploring the soul: - What is life? - What is the purpose of life? - What purpose do we serve in this life?  - Is there a soul within us?  - How is life created?  - Is there life after death?  - Is there a calling? - Are we 'killing' Mother Nature?  - Is Covid-19 part of Mother Nature's punishment?  Reflecting upon Year 2020, I really enjoyed it. I had at least pick up my habit of reading back (after years of 'dumping it' since my school days), gone back to meditation for clarity, continue my 'no meat' diet and hopefully, I am back to managing this blog regularly.  I have plans for an early retirement (though I am not like rich)
