Feels like semi retiring

Probably the impact of working for many years.... 24 years to be exact. Has been tiring. Day in day out, the routine, the travelling, the numbers game, does my work serve any purpose?  No I guess, just earning more money. I can be quite productive and proficient in my field but it gets boring and predictable.   And really serve no purpose to society. It's time to look beyond the material aspect of life.  Wait. I have not really care about earning more money since years back. But to retire in a materialist world, there is minimal amount to take a slower pace and my kids still need this breadwinner.   So I guess, work is inevitable for now, not any slower until my girls can 'fly'. Countdown to 10 more years of semi retirement.

I am Jack of all Trade, Master of none

It probably sounds sad to most. But I chose to be Jack. New stuff and experience always fantasised me. New product, technology, invention, thought intrigued me.  Maybe I choose to be Jack as a form of laziness. Always believing that knowing more than an average person is more than enough. Never putting in the final push to be the subject matter expert.   Excel in subjects but content with the results. Learning the broadest categories with slight depth. Ask me about gaming and I only know slightly more than an average gamer. Perhaps that how I live by, always wanting to explore the unknown, what is the purpose of living and life, etc. That's the curiosity of the cat.  Update 15 Sep 2021: I was toying with this idea of a Jack of all Trade website, providing new stuff, new experiences, new stages in life, meditation leads to yoga, etc. Hope I can materialize it. :)

Vaccination the in-thing in Singapore

Covid19 vaccination as the buzztalk since the start of year.  Last Wed 14 Apr 2021 I had my first dose of Moderna vaccine. Kudos to SG system, registration, injection, waiting area and discharge process was seamless.  Not much symptoms appear on Day 1, just the pain on the injected arm. Day 2 and Day 3 looks OK. Day 4 as in yesterday, not sure if it is the rain, the tiredness and headache kicks in and still lingering till now.  There was a debate on Pfizer or Moderna between our extended families and frens, e.g. 3 weeks vs 4 weeks waiting time, efficacy rate, side effects, etc.   I couldn't be bothered. I booked the earliest and convenient dates and place.  We should be grateful that we have accessed to this vaccine earlier and faster than many countries. That's human nature I guessed. If there is only 1 vaccine, there's is no choice.   We are really spoilt by choice even in getting vaccinated.

Passing of great neighbour

Mr Soh, my first and closer neighbour was closed to 90 when he passed away on 5 April 2021. The irony is the news of his passing was informed by his wife to me on 16 April 2021. Talk about close neighbour, haiz. I rem talking to him few days prior and he (as usual) mentioned it is about time for him to leave/die if not of taking care of his wife (due to mild stroke). Mr Soh was a Harvard Grad as I know. Teaching in National JC and become advisor to MOE. Especially smart and alert guy. I didn't manage to find out more info of this death.  REST IN PEACE, MR SOH!
