Meditation to continuity of mind

I chanced upon this book How To Meditate by Kathleen MacDonald at a store shelf. It was within a pile of free books for Buddhism.

I am still in early pages of the book.
definitely useful for beginner or intermediate level.
I have been practicing meditation on-and-off for quite some time, you can read about my experiences in my previous blogs.

this book managed to put the thoughts, the way of meditation to the next level.

Meditation to continuity of mind, I was practicing this method which teaches us to try and look beyond our present life, but into our past and maybe future lives.
Some might think this is crazy or ridiculous stuff.., .me too.
but no harm to try since I have been practicing for few years and wanted to know what more I can do with meditation.

I followed the instructions (aim to go beyond my present to my past lives). Starting meditation by focusing on breath... then move to tracing back yesterday, weeks, years, moments in this present life.
I stopped at my kindergarten years where I rem I would be alone at the classroom door (downstairs of Blk 36) at 145pm (where lessons started at 2pm). After some backtrack, I rem the kampong days, and then back to the womb.
And something weird happened, I did not go back directly to any past lives. instead, i 'see' a series of lights, red, orange, green, blue, purplish (in sequence). the colours kept circulating for a while...
The next moment, I 'see' a Japanese warrior holding a spear, and he was in rage... at first, i thought that was me... but after careful observation, that warrior was pointing that spear at me and I had to run for my life... no fear from myself... this image lingers for a while and disappeared... and my rainbow lights didn't appear after... that's where my meditation for yesterday ended.
Vivid image, weird... Is that one of my past lives?
